Door County Coffee is made with Specialty Class 1 Arabica Beans which are the top 2% of the beans grown in the world. To achieve this high status coffee must graded by the Specialty Coffee Association and maintain a quality standard as well as a cupping (taste) standard or point system, very similar to the grading of wine. The green beans are sorted to ensure only the finest green beans (up to 5 defects in a 350 gram sample) and must register 80 points or above in the cup evaluation (based on 100 gram roasted sample). While this may sound scientific, we are sharing these tight specifications so that you can always be assured that the quality and taste of Door County Coffee is the best on the planet!
