Chocolate Raspberry-Coffee Marinated Hanger Steak Salad

Featured ingredient: Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Coffee 10 oz. Bag Ground

  • 1/2 cup brewed Door County Chocolate Raspberry Truffle coffee, cooled to room temperature
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/3 cup raspberry vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup canola oil
  • 2 pounds hanger steak
  • 8 cups mixed baby greens
  • 1 cup fresh raspberries
  • 1 cup crumbled goat cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped, roasted pecans, mixed baby bell peppers, chopped
  • 1/4 cup bittersweet chocolate, shaved


  1. Combine all ingredients from coffee through canola oil, whisking to blend. Add 1 cup of marinade(dressing) to large zip-lock plastic bag, along with the steak. Refrigerate 2-4 hours, turning occasionally.
  2. Make salads while steak marinates: Toss greens, pecans, and peppers with 1/4 cup of prepared dressing(marinade) and add to 4 salad plates.
  3. Preheat gas grill to medium-high. Remove steak from marinade, season both sides with kosher salt and ground black pepper and grill 5 minutes per side. Remove to platter and let rest 8-10 minutes.
  4. Slice meat against the grain, add to salads along with raspberries and goat cheese. Drizzle with more dressing and grind fresh black pepper over, if desired. Sprinkle with bittersweet chocolate
