"I developed this recipe in my dorm room after numerous morning disasters on my way to class. I am a coffee addict and so I can't make it through an 8am without having a cup of dark goodness readily available. I also can't get through my morning classes with a growling tummy distracting me from what's on the board. I would often be leaving the student union on my way to class trying to balance my cup of much needed coffee, oatmeal, and a piece of fruit. I cannot even count the number of times I dropped on of these elements or spilled them on myself. Finally, I got frustrated and decided to fall into the trendy smoothie making hobby. I fell in love. I could put everything I loved about breakfast into one glass and carry it with me to class. Not only does the recipe above incorporate the much needed coffee dosage for my morning sanity, but it incorporates filling fruits and vegetables that enhance mental clarity and promote physical health."



This is a Door County Coffee Fan recipe. It was not made in the kitchens of the Door County Coffee Cafe.
Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Door Country Intense Dark Coffee
  • 1/2 Cup Vanilla Almond Milk
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 TBS almond butter
  • 1 Cup spinach or kale
  • 1 date
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Ice is optional

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients into a high power blender and mix until smooth.
  2. Pour into portable cup and get a healthy kick start to your morning on the go!
