Muy Caliente Spice Mix

“Use as a rub for ribs, stir into beans and rice or sprinkle over roasted winter squash and peppers. Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place for up to 6 months.”

This is a Door County Coffee Fan recipe. It was not made in the kitchens of the Door County Coffee Café.

  • 1/4 C. Door County Mexican Chiapas Coffee Beans (or Premier Select)
  • 2 Tbsp toasted pine nuts
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp coriander seeds


  1. In a small food processor place all ingredients and process until finely ground.
Yield about 1 cup
