 “Flavoring coffee is an art form,” declared Vicki Wilson, owner of Door County Coffee. “You don’t want to over-power the taste of great coffee – you just want to infuse it with amazing flavors. Flavors that bring out the tastes of the seasons, or great tastes that pairs well with great coffee!”
At Door County Coffee, we have developed a proprietary process in flavoring our coffees. Many companies buy inferior or lesser quality beans and “flavor” them in an attempt to mask imperfections. Not here at Door County Coffee where we use only Specialty Class 1 Arabica beans - the BEST of the BEST! While the beans are just removed from the roast chamber and still warm and aromatic, we add a very precise amount of liquid flavoring, based on our desired flavor profile and recipe. The quality of the flavoring is incredibly important too! While developing new flavors, our roastmasters concoct several choices for everyone to review and select their favorite.
We conduct blind taste tests and all votes are tallied! As you might imagine, our taste buds seem to always select the most expensive flavorings, but we believe that’s why our flavored coffee sets the standard for others to follow!
